Hey Northwestern,
NETG is very excited to announce an awesome event, in partnership with NESC, ISEN, Medill, and The New York Times.
Justin Gillis is a reporter covering environmental science and policy for The New York Times. At Northwestern, he will talk about what is happening to the climate, why much of the public is oblivious, and how well American journalism is–or is not–bridging the gap.
Justin Gillis joined The Times in 2007, after a 25-year career as a reporter and editor at The Miami Herald and The Washington Post. For The Post, he wrote about the race to sequence the human genome, the resulting revolution in medical research, and the global crisis in public health. Earlier this year, his Times series on climate science, Temperature Rising, won the Oakes Award for Distinguished Environmental Journalism from Columbia University.
Tuesday, October 16, 5:15pm, McCormick Tribune Center Forum. RSVP
Please do invite your friends from across Chicagoland. Looking forward to a big cross-campus discourse on Climate Change!
Best,
David Snydacker
