A car-free German suburb

A suburb of Freiburg, Germany turns a WWII-era army barracks into a very nearly car-free community of over 5,000. Car ownership rates are low, and often communal. Other areas of the world express a similar vision: a "car-reduced" community is planned in California, and new development in Britain must be served by transit. Check out the link for more details.
